School Staff Award Winners
We’re thrilled to deliver the School Staff Award in Wales with our friends at The Anti Bullying Alliance.
The unique and wonderful thing about this award is that nominations are made by children and young people and the winners are chosen by a panel of young people.
In 2021, we partnered with the Anti Bullying Alliance, and launched the first School Staff Award Wales – an award for school staff who go beyond the call of duty to support children and young people with issues such as bullying, family life, relationships and health.
Since then the awards have continued to grow, with 2023 seeing our highest ever number of nominations from Wales. It is the unenviable job of the Anti-Bullying Alliance’s panel of children & young people to decide the winners amongst the many nominees.
Every single member of school staff that was nominated received a certificate of nomination, and the winners received a framed certificate, trophy and prizes via our sponsors. In 2023, we were delighted that Radnor Fam supported the School Staff Award Wales and provided prizes for the Primary and Secondary School award winners. In 2022 and 2021, St David’s Hotel and Spa generously provided prizes for our winners.

2022 Winners
Mr Elliott Heade, St Peter’s RC Primary School, Cardiff
“Mr Heade always speaks calmly if anyone is nasty to someone or about somebody. He tells people to take a minute and then talks to them about how what they did has upset or hurt somebody. The person who isn’t kind will then apologise or sometimes write a card to apologise. He will always talk to the class about what is good and bad behaviour and to be like Jesus. Mr Heade will always gather us all on the carpet when someone has done something wrong to explain why that is horrible behaviour that none of us should do”.

“Ms Williams is kind and friendly and always makes sure the children are kind to each other. She is a very good role model and shows us how to be kind and funny. If we are sad or lonely or worried she will check on us and let our parents know we are ok. She makes us smile when we are sad and she helps us makes friends with other children”

“When I was bullied and had some issues with girls in my year she was there for me when nobody else was. We would eat lunch together and have cups of tea and biscuits whenever I’d feel down. When we had lock downs due to coronavirus she would email me and ring me weekly to check how I was doing. She is kind and very caring”.
