Anti-Bullying Week

Each year the Anti-Bullying Alliance coordinates Anti-Bullying Week in schools across the UK. BulliesOut is a Core Member of the Anti Bullying Alliance and recognises and celebrates anti-bullying week each year.

This year, we launched the first School Staff Award Wales – an award for school staff who go beyond the call of duty to support children and young people with issues such as bullying, family life, relationships and health. The unique and wonderful thing about this award is that nominations are made by children and young people and the winners are chosen by a panel of young people.

We’re thrilled to deliver the School Staff Award in Wales with our friends at The Anti Bullying Alliance. All nominees received a certificate to surprise the school staff, and working with young people, two winners were selected, one for primary and one for secondary.

We are delighted that St David’s Hotel & Spa have supported the School Staff Award Wales and provided prizes for the Primary and Secondary School award winners. Winners will receive an Overnight Stay with a Full Welsh Breakfast and use of the Spa at the 5* St David’s Hotel and Spa in the picturesque Cardiff Bay.

The Winners Are …

Ms Lisa Williams, School Secretary, Glyn-Gaer Primary School

“Ms Williams is kind and friendly and always makes sure the children are kind to each other. She is a very good role model and shows us how to be kind and funny. If we are sad or lonely or worried she will check on us and let our parents know we are ok. She makes us smile when we are sad and she helps us makes friends with other children”

Miss Chewins, Teacher, Pen-y-Dre High School

“When I was bullied and had some issues with girls in my year she was there for me when nobody else was. We would eat lunch together and have cups of tea and biscuits whenever I’d feel down. When we had lock downs due to coronavirus she would email me and ring me weekly to check how I was doing. She is kind and very caring”.

Congratulations to Ms Williams and Miss Chewins from everyone at BulliesOut, The Anti Bullying Alliance and St David’s Hotel & Spa
