Being a Corporate Partner of BulliesOut has been a fantastic experience so far. The team are lovely and supportive people who really care about making a difference to the lives of children and young people.
When Vetro put out on social media that we were looking to support a charity we never thought we would be lucky enough to find Linda and her team who have truly inspired us to push further and has supported our efforts every step of the way, truly becoming part of the Vetro team.
With almost everyone at Vetro having children or experience of working with children, BulliesOut and the work they do in schools was the clear choice for our team. We want to help them reduce the amount of bullying in schools and to train children to know how to effectively help others in need especially at a crucial time when children’s mental health is starting to get the recognition it so desperately needs.
Having the opportunity to organise fundraising events for the charity has been a lot of fun and had pushed us to be more creative as a team. The events themselves have brought out a new side to several members of our team, showing how generous, caring and competitive the Vetro team can be!
The charity quiz night and static cycle challenge really brought out the competitiveness within the team, with each person pushing themselves to be better than the others – perhaps this is why these events brought in so much sponsorship!
Our monthly swear box has demonstrated how well behaved our office can be and how much discipline each person has! This activity also brought out the generosity of our team as many people donated money even though they hadn’t used a single bad word but they felt the charity deserved the money anyway.
Our most recent event, Pump-Y-Fan, has truly shown the dedication our team has to raising funds for BulliesOut to complete their fantastic work in more schools. Two members of our team climbed Pen-Y-Fan 5 times in one day, only stopping for food and drink breaks. With only two opportunities to train beforehand they completed this 53,000 step challenge in a little over 9 hours! All of our staff, including our candidates and clients, showed their support through messages, donations and showing up on the day with one of our lovely candidates even completing one climb herself to show support!
It is incredible how much supporting BulliesOut has brought us all closer as a team and has provided us with opportunities to push ourselves into opportunities that we may not usually take part in.
The education team in particular are looking forward to the next stage of our partnership with BulliesOut which will include providing schools with the training from BulliesOut using the money we have raised to fund it!
