Go Purple

Organised as part of our Anti-Bullying Week activities, the campaign’s message is to promote kindness, acceptance, empathy, and to challenge bullying behaviour.

Go Purple is a chance for families, friends, schools, workplaces and communities to come together to show their support for those affected by bullying behaviour.

Most children and young people spend 11,000 hours in school and research (from the Diana Award) tells us that sadly, 64% of young people report being bullied whilst at school. Bullying behaviour also affects 1 in 3 adults in the workplace. The bullying issue in our schools and workplaces is real and it is urgent and we need more awareness of this devastating behaviour to ensure those affected by it receive the help and support they need.

More needs to be done at home, in schools and in the workplace to help those who are being bullied and also, crucially, to prevent bullying behaviour from happening in the first place. More and more young people and adults are reaching out for help. Sadly many who take that brave step feel they’re not listened to and that they simply don’t matter. But each and every one of them matters to us at BulliesOut.

By taking part in Go Purple, you will help make our voice louder and we will raise vital awareness and funds so that nobody needs to suffer in isolation. We want as many people taking part in this campaign as possible and whilst we would love to raise lots of money to help fund our vital services, it is the awareness that is achieved that is also important to us. So simply by taking part, you are helping us achieve our objective. Whether you raise £1 or £1,000 it will make a great difference to our work and most importantly, we will have been visible to many people who may have never heard of us before.
